Ever wondered what a Fallout game would be like if you were playing as a Mutant Furry little critter? That’s exactly what Biomutant seems to be going for. Biomutant delivers real-time melee, shooter and mutant ability action that adds a new twist on the post-apocalyptic action adventure genre. After THQ Nordic officially unveiled the open-world action RPG earlier this week, we recently got the gameplay trailer and by the looks of it Biomutant is shaping out to be a pretty impressive, with a cute (but deadly) furry fella scampering around and powering up in all sorts of ways.

A Wushu Style Mutant Action-RPG
The developers at Nordic THQ decided to go the creative route and make a third-person action game with melee, shooting, and mutant powers starring a furry little mutant that is cute and equally dangerous. The game has a major focus on martial arts since the litter Biomutant which the game is centered around will be going up against a variety of different beasts, mutants, and situations where having the biggest isn’t going to be enough. A crucial part of the gameplay is finding and learning from masters, gaining physical mutations like animal attributes and psychic powers that let you do all sorts of crazy things through radiations.
This is one of those games that isn’t afraid to let you explore the world. Biomutant has a bit of everything from different cultures for everyone to enjoy, it lets you hop in crazy-looking mechs, fly around in balloons and take jet skis out over the water while retaining the kung-fu feel of the game at all times – or at least from what we’ve seen from the gameplay so far.
There will be three individual worlds to explore, which includes an underworld, the normal world which we see in most of the trailers along with a miniature solar system that is hopefully filled with different characters and side quests to complete.
What’s It About & How It Looks?
As far as the story is concerned, Biomutant seems to be following a tried and tested formula. The world is on the brink of extinction due to some external threat and our Fox/Koala hybrid mutant is out on a journey to bring the disputing tribes together to oppose the threat – simple. But rather than delivering a linear story to players, the player will be free to choose how the game plays out.
The graphics, on the other hand, are more colorful and vibrant with a blend of realistic and Zelda like graphics that make for some exceptionally beautiful scene and scenery as showcased in the gameplay trailer. Even at this early stage, Biomutant looks like an incredible game with a lot of potential. It’s slated to be released on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2018 and if it can manage to deliver on what it promises it simply might be one of the best games of 2018.
