You need to have a lot of guts in order to be a warrior. Bravery, resistance to pain, fast reflexes and being prepared for any type of challenge that can come in a warrior’s life are the things that you must have to be a true warrior. But the thing that is the most important is that you must never forget to use your brains and make keen decisions. This is exactly the kind of game Ancestors Legacy wants to be and from the looks of it, this might just be possible.
Ancestors Legacy Historically Accurate & Traditional
Ancestors Legacy is the new official title of Ancestors, the “historically accurate” real-time strategy game which is set to take place in the Middle Ages and is developed by Destructive Creations, the popular Polish studio which is famous for its previous controversial titles such as Hatred and IS Defense.
In this attempt, they have come up with a game which is somewhat more traditional. In this game, players will be allowed to take command of four playable nations (Viking, Anglo-Saxon, German and Slav) in Medieval Europe.
While playing Ancestors Legacy, players will go to war with their enemies through squads of units governed by one of four available nations which they will be commanding: Viking, Anglo-Saxon, German, or Slav. The victor will not be chosen by simply ravaging but rather the victory will be his who will make the most tactical decisions and will be keen with utilizing the environment around them to take advantage of it.
Play as 4 Different Nations
Ancestors Legacy, featuring the ability to choose from its 4 different nations, comes packed with many different ways to achieve tactical dominance and becoming the superior one on the battlefield. The Vikings from the Norse Kingdoms are comparatively more mobile than other units because of their light infantry and cavalry.
From what we’ve seen from the gameplay, Vikings have been shown in the role of aggressors in the game, because of this they won’t have permanent buildings to be considered as their “base”. In this game their strategy is more based on an ambush–attack–retreat formula, and it works surprisingly a little too well for them.
Although they have some simpler settlements, another thing that is worth taking note of is that they are based on military camps from the 10th – 11th century. The tribe is pretty much based on the Vikings who used to live in the area of modern-day Norway, Sweden, and Denmark in the period between the 9th and 11th century.
It is expected that Ancestors Legacy will be released for PC and Xbox One most probably in Q2 2018. To get more information about this game, you can visit its Steam page. Destructive Creations released a new gameplay video of the Vikings, which shows us that the game will look exceptionally gorgeous.
