Linksys WRT32X Gaming Router
The so simply named WRT32X works with a network product created by Rivet Networks called Killer networking. This allows control over the traffic that passes through the network. Now the Linksys router comes with this software installed on the router itself. So when person connects a killer enabled PC connects to the ‘killer router’ and starts gaming, that PC is automatically prioritized over other devices on the same network. This allows for a higher amount of bandwidth, lower ping and a better overall online gaming experience according to Linksys.
- Killer Prioritization Engine
- Reduces peak ping by 77%*
- Custom-built gaming user interface and firmware
- 1.8 GHz dual-core central processor
The router supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi, has5 Pro-grade Gigabit Ethernet ports, a 1.8 GHz dual-core ARM processor, 4 dual band antennas and comes with an open source OpenWrt firmware. This firmware allows for easy tinkering, customization and network management.
Its not the most elegant looking router so you definitely wouldn’t buy it for its looks, however it could be a lot of use for Gamers who share their network with other users and want to make sure that their gaming sessions are not hampered by their family members’/friends’ sudden decision to download or stream in the middle of a clutch 1V1 moment. It is currently available for pre-order on amazon for $300
