HP released the Omen series of desktops and laptops earlier this year. It had a wide range of different products however they had not included any laptops with really high end specs. That all changed today with HP announcing the New HP Omen X laptop at Gamescom.

The new Omen X features two types of displays. A  4K resolution display for those who want to game in all its beauty or a 120Hz 1080p display for those who favor performance over resolution. The display is powered by a factory overclocked GTX 1080 and unlocked Core i7 (it is the kaby lake processors, not the newly announced 8th gen processors). Both options support NVIDIA® G-SYNC™ technology.

Omen X – Overclocking

The laptop has an integrated vapor chamber in certain configurations packages with four 3.5 mm heat pipes which helps dissipate heat away from the important components towards the four massive radiators and allows for overclocking without any worry so that you can push the hardware beyond its factory settings with ease.

Other Features

The laptop comes with a mechanical keyboard with individually customizable RGB keys, a transparent panel to see certain components inside the laptop and easy one panel access to the RAM, HDD and SSD for ease of upgradation and access.

It includes support for DTH headphones for simulated surround sound experience, RAID o configuration for SSD’s and two external displays with the two available thunderbolt 3 connectors.

The Omen X according to the product video starts at $1799.99 and will be available around November. There is no news about its launch in India so far.

With this launch HP will be competing with the likes of Acer and MSI who also recently launched laptops of similar configurations. You can check up our round up of those laptops here.
