Butterscotch Shenanigans, the developers behind Crashlands, have announced they’ll be releasing a new game called Scuffle Buddies. The new game announcement came from when Butterscotch Shenanigans were accounting that their action-RPG Crashlands had sold more than 500,000 copies, which considering was developed by an Indie Studio does prove their worth as game developers. The remarkable aspect of the announcement was that 118,000 of the copies were sold on PC.
Will Scuffle Buddies Be A Crashlands Sequel?
According to the developers, they want to make Scuffle Buddies a game that they couldn’t manage with Crashlands due to their being a lack of resources and manpower which was clearly reflected in the game on launch. When the Crashlands launched on PC it had didn’t have high-resolution support or multiplayer options as well as quite a few bugs. Though most of these issues were fixed post-launch but by the time the game was truly presentable a fair chunk of the market had delivered its verdict. But besides all the shortcomings, Crashlands did exceptionally well and it’s going to be hard to come up with something that out do their previous success.
Things are definitely different for Butterscotch Shenanigans compared to the time they made Crashlands. Since then, Butterscotch Shenanigans has doubled the size of their team and have more resources to invest developing their new game and polishing it before launch. As for the game itself, we only have a vague idea of what to expect.
What Kind Of Game is Scuffle Buddies?
Butterscotch Shenanigans are keeping a tight lid on what kind of game Scuffle Buddies is going to be. All we have to go by right now is the games logo which is just as confusing. The developers have said that this time around they’ll be focusing on a more PC centric approach and will have better animation and gameplay elements than Crasslands. The official Scuffle Buddies site does have a soundtrack and a wallpaper which does hint that the game will be geared more towards an esport-esque gameplay which considering the current trend can be highly likely.

Much like their other games, Scuffle Buddies is also going to be focused on multiplayer. Additionally, it’s safe to assume that Scuffle Buddies will be much larger in scope compared to Butterscotch Shenanigans other games to truly make an impact on the market and establish a reliable fan base for good.
